-2143 Trade Visitors
-50 Media Visitors
Note from the organisers:
The secret sauce when it comes to events like this, is listening to the feedback provided, consider all the ideas, analyse the data and make the required changes to ensure year on year growth. We’re very pleased as organisers to say that we did just that and the results speak for themselves with 20% growth in numbers across both exhibitors and visitors.
The biggest change for this years Organic & Natural Products Expo, was a new home in Sandton Convention Centre. The chaos caused by the “temporary” structure last year pushed us to find a more suitable venue, and the Sandton Convention Centre provided just what we needed.
The next biggest addition to the 2023 event, was the close collaboration with the African Biotrade Festival. The inclusion of the festival saw delegates from Europe making the trip to see what indigenous ingredients and products are available, and it was a true celebration of the truly unique local offering.
In a market sector dominated by small business, participating on platforms like this is often not achievable. Thanks to our provincial development agency partners, and our two new corporate partners namely Standard Bank and Food Lovers Market, we were able to open up this wonderful stage to more than 65 SMMEs who otherwise would not have been able to participate. For 2024 we will be expanding on this model to allow more SMME participation.
We are extremely excited to announce that after many requests, 2024 will see the launch of our Cape Town event to be held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre on the 26th – 28th April. The Joburg event will remain at Sandton Convention Centre, and will be held on the 12th to 14th September. There are early bird specials to companies who book before the end of the year, as well as for those who book to feature at both events, so reach out to find out more.
We look forward to a bigger and better 2024 as we continue to grow the O&N platform for the benefit of all sector participants.
Testimonials:
“Thank you for a wonderful expo, that was well organised. We had lots of fun connecting with traders, buyers and the general public. It was so nice to be in a room full of like-minded people that all understand and kind of speak the same language when it comes to health and wellness. We didn’t need to convince or educate people to much,as most people were aware of the beauty of plants! Looking forward to seeing you guys again at the Cape town one, and next year in Jhb.”
Antoinette – Natural Elixir
“We found the Expo very well organised with a great team behind the success of it. There was considerable diversity in the group of exhibitors which broaden our networking spectrum. The Expo gave us new opportunities and a wider range of possible product developments. We were gazed in awe by the response and interest in our products by the public.”
David Malan – Founder, Nuts about Garlic
“The Expo was a really great experience for me. The organization of it was excellent. It was well planned and everything went well. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The attendance of visitors was really good, I was really amazed at how many visitors they had.”
Mariska Engelbrecht – Founder, MeltingAway Wellness Cafe
“On behalf of The Golden Goose, we were satisfied with the level of organization of the exhibition, the composition of the exhibitors, the level of technical training, and the number of visitors that visited to our stand. It was a beneficial opportunity for marketing our products and getting an amazing exposure in South Africa and in Africa as we plan to export our products as well.”
Rethabile Maimane – Founder, Golden Goose
“The Food Lover’s Market Mile, as our area of the Expo was eventually called, had a great mix of products, and we couldn’t be more delighted with the Expo. It was busy, everyone made great connections, and our SMMEs enjoyed the exposure – we are all happy with the outcome. It was a fantastic opportunity to share more about the Seeds Of Change Supplier Development Partnership, as many attendees and entrepreneurs were curious about Food Lover’s Market’s presence at the Expo. Seeds of Change aims to create an opportunity for socially and environmentally focussed small businesses to join the Food Lover’s Market network as a supplier. As part of the Seeds of Change initiative, Food Lover’s Market secured space at the Expo and offered it to some of our SMMEs for exposure. While the Seeds Of Change Supplier Development Partnership will have an increase in SMME interest next year(we generated leads at the stand), we are bolstered by the positive feedback we received from everyone. While they loved the initiative and complimented us on what we are doing in the social entrepreneurship space, we were pleased to receive many ideas on improving Seeds of Change to reach more South Africans. The Expo was an excellent opportunity to connect, and we saw many innovative, trending and interesting products that could shine on Food Lover’s Market shelves. We hope some entrepreneurs we met apply to join Seeds Of Change in 2024.”
