About SEDFA

The Small Enterprise Development and Finance Agency (SEDFA) is a Schedule 2 public entity under South Africa’s Department of Small Business Development (DSBD). Established to consolidate government support into a unified, one-stop shop for entrepreneurs, SEDFA provides both financial capital and non-financial capacity-building support to small enterprises and cooperatives. By facilitating market access, funding, and mentorship, SEDFA plays a critical role in fostering sustainable SMMEs, driving job creation, and empowering historically disadvantaged entrepreneurs across key sectors, including the rapidly growing organic, natural, and agro-processing industries.
