The Organic Expo Cape Town Conference is set to take place at the Organic & Natural Products Expo Africa from 28 to 30 March at the Cape Town International Convention Centre. This three-day event will feature thought leaders and industry experts from renowned organisations.

Day 3 of the Organic Expo Cape Town Conference is all about holistic health, sustainability, and mindful living.
The day begins with Dr Joan van Wyngaard of Vitant, who will explore the future of retinol derived from the ocean.
Attendees can then unwind and rejuvenate with interactive yoga and Tai Chi sessions, led by Elaine Seidel and Gideon le Roux. Sustainability takes centre stage as Alexandra Dodd from Plant Based Treaty SA introduces a global movement advocating for a transition to plant-based food systems.
The afternoon continues with mindfulness for wellness presented by Michael O’Rourke, followed by a Slow Feast Experience with Nicolas McLean of Feed Me Green, offering a sensory journey through local, sustainable cuisine.

Dr Joan van Wyngaard

Gideon le Roux is a seasoned acupuncturist and holistic health expert with over 20 years of experience. Alexandra Dodd
Alexandra Dodd is a writer, editor and campaigner with Plant Based Treaty. Adept at exploring multiple ways of seeing, she has worked on numerous leading-edge projects that bring together visual, literary, and archival cultures. She is also a futurist, committed to transforming the world’s food system and giving voice to the intersections between social-, environmental-, and animal-justice struggles. Fully vegan for 13 years, she is a vocal animal-justice advocate and a supporter of numerous animal sanctuaries and campaigns.
Michael O’Rourke
Michael O’Rourke, a former corporate executive with nearly 30 years of experience, is now dedicated to holistic well-being. As a mindfulness facilitator, yoga instructor, and mentor, he empowers individuals and teams through mindfulness, meditation, and leadership development. Michael offers yoga classes, team-building sessions, and burnout recovery programmes, guiding others on a journey to joy and balance through mindful living.
Nicolas McLean
Nicolas McLean is a health coach at Gut Health Yogi, dedicated to promoting healthy living through energizing food and sustainable practices. Passionate about nature’s vitality, he advocates for green lifestyles and enjoys growing food gardens. Nicolas studied at Crawford College.
